Communicates and upholds all laws, regulations, and rules relating to the use of Bureau of State Park lands, while enforcing and ensuring compliance with Commonwealth laws.

As the DCNR Ranger Trainee, you will undergo a comprehensive one-year training program that covers public contact, customer service, outdoor recreation, conservation, environmental education, public safety, and law enforcement to effectively carry out the responsibilities of a DCNR Ranger. Duties will involve park patrols, handling safety issues, assisting visitors, responding to emergencies, enforcing laws, and maintaining detailed logs of park activities. Additionally, responsibilities will include issuing permits, collecting fees, and ensuring accurate financial transactions.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Park Resource Ranger at the French Creek State Park Complex. As a Park Resource Ranger, your responsibilities include ensuring the safe use of park facilities by assisting visitors, providing information, and guiding them to the appropriate resources for further help. Your duties involve office tasks such as answering phone calls, operating office equipment like radios and computers, and researching park information. Additionally, you will issue permits for watercraft and firewood, conduct educational programs, and assist with interpretive materials and volunteer projects. In addition to office work, you will also be responsible for maintenance tasks like litter pickup, sign painting, and trail marking. You will monitor park facilities and visitors, ensuring compliance with park rules and regulations.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Park Resource Ranger at the Delaware State Park Complex. As a Park Resource Ranger, your main responsibility will be to address any issues or potential threats to the safety and well-being of park visitors. This includes inspecting park buildings, facilities, and grounds for safety hazards and taking immediate action to correct or control them. You will also be responsible for performing traffic control, conducting beach and playground inspections, and posting safety zones as directed. Additionally, you will provide information to park visitors about park facilities, services, and nearby state parks, as well as offer emergency care and assistance when needed. You will also handle campground permits and passes, as well as account for revenues received and make bank deposits using the bureau’s electronic reservation program.
