Hi, my name is Elizabeth Brunerand I am a Conservation Ambassador and want to Pay It Forward to the Next Generation of Conservation Leaders!
MY FUNDRAISING GOAL – $250
Goal Update: $553 raised !!!
MY WLA STORY + WHY I WANT TO PAY IT FORWARD
Last summer I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Wildlife Leadership Academy’s field schools for Bucktails and Drummers. My favorite part of both field schools was the necropsies. We were taught by the state veterinarian the different systems of a deer and a ruffed grouse through a power point presentation and then with hands on experiences – yes, we all went outside and performed a necropsy on real animals which I thought was the coolest thing! To see how animals body systems work together to create amazing creatures in our world was amazing!
I also honed my leadership abilities through WLA. Being a leader is important in whatever job your find yourself and WLA helped me to improve my leadership skills. WLA has impacted me in so many ways – introducing me to new and interesting people, improving my public speaking skills, and helping me to choose my future career. WLA has opened the door for me to explore the many career opportunities in wildlife or forestry.
I want to help raise funds through Pay It Forward so the upcoming students in 2019 can have the same amazing experience I did by attending the Wildlife Leadership Academy field schools. Because of the students who participated in Pay It Forward before me, I was fortunate enough to be awarded a scholarship to attend WLA in 2018. I want to pass the torch to other teens to have the the same fabulous experience that I had and I hope you will join me in helping to make that possible. .
Thank you for helping me in Paying it Forward! ~ Elizabeth
