MY WLA STORY + WHY I WANT TO PAY IT FORWARD
I first heard about WLA through the Envirothon club as my teacher was encouraging any of us who were interested to do a field school. I wanted to take a step out of my comfort zone and learn some useful things along the way. My favorite part of field school was getting to learn about all the different ways people can contribute to conservation, even if not working solely to do so. It really showed me that being a leader doesn’t always mean you’re the loudest person in the room; it’s more about guiding people in the right direction.
I loved the program and think it’s a great way to really show people what’s out there. I am participating in Pay It Forward because I want to make sure others will be given the opportunity to experience it. I also would like to give back, as the program was something that has really introduced a lot of new experiences into my life that I’m very grateful for.
