As the weather gets more inclement, it can become harder to work on outreach projects in the outdoors. There’s still plenty to do outside, so don’t give up on them entirely! However, for those who are less inclined to brave the colder temperatures and snowy climes, there’s lots of indoor outreach options! Now is the time to engage in public speaking, trifold, and other educational projects, as well as media options. Many organizations, such as Quality Deer Management Association, Audubon chapters, Trout Unlimited, and more are having their winter meetings- this would be a great opportunity to ask if you could bring your trifold and talk about your experience at camp. Some other ideas for cold-weather activities are:
- Set up your trifold in a local library display as an unmanned trifold project
- Give a talk to your local scout/4-H group (about WLA or about an outdoors topic that interests you – your choice!)
- Volunteer at a banquet for one of the groups mentioned above – help set up, tear down, serve food, etc
- Write me an article or blog post – email them to me directly at any time! 🙂
- Submit Words fo Wisdom at our online form (Click Here for the link!)
- Work on creative arts projects – sketching, journaling, painting – recreate that winter scene you see from your window
