OVERVIEW
The Field School Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safety and well-being of all camp staff and participants during their time with us at field school. The Field School Supervisor communicates and solves problems calmly and respectfully with parents, field school staff, instructors, health care coordinators, the caterer and Krislund staff. The Field School Supervisor liaisons with the home office to ensure a smooth transition of field school paperwork, materials, and logistical details to camp and will use this information to oversee high quality logistical implementation by all Academy support staff.
2023 FIELD SCHOOL SEASON
Pre-Season Prep: Complete all required pre-camp training sessions
REQUIRED: Full staff wrap-up Zoom session prior to camp
The Field School Supervisor will live on-site at Camp Krislund for the full summer (10 weeks); start date June 5, end date August 11 (open to discussion on starting earlier or leaving later).
Work up to 40 hours one week before field schools, 2.5 full weeks in between field schools, and one week after field school
Field School Weeks (Mon-Sat): PA Bucktails – June 12-17, PA Bass – June 19-25, Brookies – July 17-22, Gobblers – July 24-29, Ursids – July 31-August 5
QUALIFICATIONS

Comfortable handling confidential information
Successful working in an independent and team environment
Ability to develop strong relationships with diverse groups of people
Comfortability in interacting with youth aged 13-17
Overall knowledge of safety precautions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Senior or college graduate or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Minimum of two years working in a leadership role. Experience working with teens.

WILDLIFE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY OVERVIEW
The Wildlife Leadership Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to engage and empower high school age youth to become Conservation Ambassadors to ensure a sustained wildlife, fisheries and natural resource legacy for future generations. This Academy experience begins with our Conservation Ambassador training for high school students, which includes attending rigorous 5-day residential summer field schools taught by leading natural resource professionals that focus on wildlife/fisheries conservation, as well as leadership skills development. Equipped with knowledge and skills, through the next year, students will serve as Conservation Ambassadors in their communities, giving back through education, service, media engagement, creative arts and outdoor mentorship. As students grow with the Academy, they explore career possibilities via professional conferences and college visit days, gain work experience via our summer field schools, and engage in professional development through our Academy Alumni Network.
