The Pennsylvania Game Commission is hiring a Forest Technician for the Northeast Region. In this position, you will help ensure the long-term health, viability, and productivity of the Commonwealth’s forests and wildlife. In this position, you will provide technical support and assistance to Regional Forestry staff in day-to-day activities on State Game Lands with a primary focus on forest habitat management activities promoting young forest conditions. This includes conducting surveys for timber sales, herbicide areas, and other forest habitat treatments under the direction of a forester. You will also assist with the collection and compilation of GPS data to produce maps, maintain tools and equipment, and assist with other Bureau of Wildlife Habitat, Forestry Division and Pennsylvania Game Commission programs as needed.
