Aquatic Biologist

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is looking to hire an Aquatic Biologist. In this role, you will administer field activities associated with the Black Fly Suppression Program. Your responsibilities will include routine collection of biological samples to determine the presence of black fly larvae in streams and rivers, directing aerial spray operations conducted by contractors on rivers and streams, conducting ground-based treatments on select streams, and evaluating the results of black fly treatments. In addition, you will conduct biological and water sampling in treated rivers and streams to assess non-targeted aquatic communities and will contribute to the preparation of summary reports and documentation related to aquatic surveys and treatment operations. Work will be focused within the Mainstem Susquehanna River, Juniata River, and associated tributaries.
