SETTING UP YOUR OUTREACH RECORD BOOK

Below are the details on how to assemble and submit your outreach record book! You may choose between a hard copy or digital submission. To get started, download the hard copy or digital reporting forms below!

Hard Copy Record Book Submission

Materials:

  • 3 ringed binder, folder, etc. (something to contain your papers)
  • Completed Outreach Report Forms
  • Documentation of projects (photos, copy of written materials, etc.)

Record Book Set Up:

  1. Create a section in your binder for each category of outreach; a divider page can be used to separate each category.
  2. When you complete a project, print out and complete an Outreach Report Form, and include documentation of the project. Documentation can be a picture of you working on the project, the project itself, etc.
  3. Add your forms and their documentation to your Outreach Record Book as you complete projects so that you’re not trying to do it all at once when the deadline comes up!

Physical Record Book Submission:

Send your Outreach Record Book through the mail to the Wildlife Leadership Academy Office at

Outreach Record Books can be mailed on the due date and will still be considered on time!

Digital Record Book Submission

Materials:

  • WLA USB Drive (provided to you at field school) or any other USB Drive
  • Completed Outreach Report Forms
  • Documentation of projects (Photos, copy of written materials, etc.)

Record Book Set Up:

  1. On your WLA USB Drive, there in an excel file template where you will fill in your project information.  For each project you complete, type in all relevant information to the best of your ability.  An example has been filled out at the top of the template to give you guidance.
    Log all of your projects on this same file.
  • Please re-name the file as your last name, first name, and the year (example: Cassidy,Katie2023RecordBook.xls)2. Each project you complete should include documentation. Documentation can be a picture of you working on the project, the project itself, a pamphlet from an event, etc.  After filling out the project in the excel template, save your documentation to a folder on the USB drive.
  • The file name should be labeled with your last name, the date, and category of your project, so that the two can be matched (example: CassidyEducation5-1-23.docx)
  • In the event of multiple projects on the same date that would have the same name, you can number your documentation (example 1CassidyMedia5-1-23.jpg, 2CassidyMedia.jpg, etc)3. Add your projects and their documentation to your WLA USB files as you complete projects so that you’re not trying to do it all at once when the deadline comes up!

Digital Record Book Submission:

Send your WLA USB Drive with your digital Outreach Record Book of documentation on it through the mail to the Wildlife Leadership Academy Office at
