DCNR Ranger Trainee – Little Pine State Park

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Ranger Trainee to work at Little Pine State Park.  a trainee in the Ranger program, you will undergo a comprehensive one-year training that combines formal instruction and practical experience. This training will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge in various areas such as public interaction, customer service, outdoor recreation, conservation, environmental education, public safety, and law enforcement. By the end of the program, you will be fully prepared to carry out the duties of a DCNR Ranger. Your responsibilities will include assisting in park patrols, ensuring the safety of visitors, addressing any emergencies or safety concerns, and enforcing park laws and regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining detailed logs, documenting the condition of park facilities, equipment, and campgrounds, as well as handling permits and collecting fees. Accuracy in financial transactions and record-keeping will be crucial in this role.
