Forest Technician

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is hiring a Forest Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for offering technical support both in the field and office settings at the Spotted Lantern Fly (SLF) regional offices to the Plant Inspection Program Specialists (PIPS) and other staff members to ensure smooth and effective operations. Your duties will include conducting tree inventory for host trees of the Spotted Lanternfly, as well as ground pest surveys as needed. Additionally, you will be involved in activities such as direct suppression, biocontrol, trapping, and sampling to manage the Spotted Lanternfly population effectively.

DCNR Park Resource Ranger – Presque Isle State Park

Forestry Field Technician

MTM Environmental, LLC is hiring Forestry Field Technicians to conduct stand examinations using the Common Stand Exam (“CSE”) protocol on National Forest land. The purpose of this work is to obtain the site, setting, and tree characteristics required to identify stand conditions and capabilities in providing the Government information with which management determinations for natural resources will be made. This includes traversing to predetermined locations, installing variable radius and fixed radius plots, and documenting the findings.
