In this position, you will undergo a comprehensive one-year formal and on-the-job training program to acquire the essential skills and techniques needed for public contact and customer service, as well as staying updated on current developments and issues in outdoor recreation, conservation principles, environmental education, public safety, and law enforcement. This training is designed to prepare you for the responsibilities of a DCNR Ranger, which will involve assisting with park patrols, addressing safety concerns, providing assistance to park visitors, handling emergencies, and enforcing laws and regulations.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Park Resource Ranger to work at Presque Isle State Park. As a Park Resource Ranger, DCNR, your primary role will involve ensuring the safety and well-being of park visitors at Presque Isle and Erie Bluffs State Parks. Additional responsibilities will be inspecting park buildings, facilities, and grounds to identify and address any safety hazards promptly. Your duties will also include providing information to park visitors about park facilities, services, nearby state parks, and offering emergency care and assistance when necessary.

MTM Environmental, LLC is hiring Forestry Field Technicians to conduct stand examinations using the Common Stand Exam (“CSE”) protocol on National Forest land. The purpose of this work is to obtain the site, setting, and tree characteristics required to identify stand conditions and capabilities in providing the Government information with which management determinations for natural resources will be made. This includes traversing to predetermined locations, installing variable radius and fixed radius plots, and documenting the findings.
