Geoscience Manager

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Geoscience Manager. This position is responsible for managing the Minerals Division activities which includes statewide geologic, conservation, natural resource development or environmental protection program for oil, gas, gas storage, hard minerals, coal extraction, water and contamination issues on state forest and state park lands across the state. Forest Technician

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is hiring a Forest Technician. In this position, your main responsibility is to carry out pest surveys and site assessments in Pennsylvania to identify the presence of the Spotted Lanternfly. You will be required to communicate with property owners to inform them about the survey programs and conduct inspections of trees or set up traps on private properties. It is important to adhere to survey protocols when placing, maintaining, and removing the traps. Additionally, any insects captured in the traps should be promptly collected and submitted to the PDA Entomology Laboratory in Harrisburg for identification.

Wildlife Biologist

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is hiring a Wildlife Biologist. Conservation Aide – Penn Nursery

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Conservation Aide at Penn Nursery. In this position, you will help harvest tree seedlings by lifting them from beds, packing them in tubs for refrigerated storage, grading, bundling, and classifying them by species and size, placing quality seedlings on conveyor belts, discarding damaged ones, identifying species, and storing bundled seedlings on racks. You will also assist with nursery seedling operations by weeding seedling beds, transplanting nursery stock, gathering cones and seeds in seed orchards.  Additionally, you will complete time sheets for supervisors, maintain the counting room daily, and perform other requested duties.

Forest Technician

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is looking to fill a Forest Technician position. Your main responsibility will be to support the forester/crew leader in implementing forest inventory sampling protocols outlined in the field manuals created by the Resource Inventory and Monitoring Section. This involves collecting data to monitor the condition, growth, and health of state forest lands. In addition, you will also provide assistance to various program areas within the Bureau of Forestry, such as Forest Health, Forest Management, Ecological Services, and Forest Fire Protection, as required.
