Your Wildlife Leadership Academy experience didn’t end when you left field school.
Regional Alumni Representatives will serve as local connectors, helping build stronger relationships among alumni, sharing opportunities, welcoming new Conservation Ambassadors into the alumni network, and helping the Academy better understand what’s happening in communities across the state.
There isn’t one type of Regional Alumni Representative.
You might be in college, graduate school, the conservation workforce, another profession, or somewhere in between. What matters most is that you:
Are a Wildlife Leadership Academy alum.
Believe in the Academy’s mission and Conservation Ambassador model.
Enjoy connecting with people.
Communicate reliably.
Want to help other alumni stay connected and engaged.
Are willing to learn, listen, and represent the Academy positively.
Can commit to serving for one year.
We especially encourage alumni at different stages of their Academy journey to apply. Previous participation as a Youth Mentor, Apprentice, staff member, instructor, or other alumni leader is welcomed but not required.
The Commitment
Regional Alumni Representatives serve a one-year term (August to August).
During that year, representatives can expect to:
Participate in an orientation and leadership training.
Attend approximately 3–4 virtual Alumni Representative meetings.
Connect periodically with alumni in their region.
Welcome newly graduating Conservation Ambassadors from their region.
Help create at least one regional alumni connection, gathering, activity, or service opportunity.
Share local opportunities and alumni stories with the Academy.
Provide a brief end-of-year reflection about their region.
This role is designed to complement school, work, family, and other commitments – not compete with them.
What You'll Gain

Gain experience in community engagement and nonprofit leadership.
