DCNR Park Resource Ranger – Ohiopyle State Park

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Park Resource Ranger at Ohiopyle State Park. As a Park Resource Ranger, you will perform a wide variety of public safety, facilities protection, visitor service, and regulation awareness activities. You will guide park visitors away from any potential hazards or unsafe areas, as well as assist visitors by providing maps, directions, and answers to any questions they may have about the park’s recreational, historical, cultural, and natural attractions. You will report violations to appropriate personnel, ensure equipment and work areas are kept in a clean and safe condition, and respond to emergency situations to ensure visitor safety.

Forester

Lancaster County Conservation District – Summer Internship

The Lancaster County Conservation District is offering a summer internship position available from May through early August. The summer internship position will assist several programs within the Conservation District from Environmental Education to Watershed Protection/Restoration. Potential projects the intern could be involved with, but are not limited to, include local stream fishery surveys, watershed educational activities, stream assessment surveys, water quality monitoring data input/analysis, assisting with the District’s Youth Conservation School program, teacher professional development workshops, and GIS database entry work.

Public Health Toxicologist

The Pennsylvania Department of Health is hiring a Public Health Toxicologist. In this position, you will evaluate toxicological information related to environmental chemical exposures using advanced scientific knowledge in environmental toxicology. This is to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information to the public and other stakeholders to prevent and minimize adverse health effects. You provide guidance and support to the division staff in the collection and analysis of data on environmental exposure and health outcome, as well as the dissemination of information pertaining to the health effects of toxicological and environmental hazards. In addition, you develop policies and procedures for coordinating resources during toxic environmental emergencies. You also assist with the conduct of follow-up epidemiological studies and investigations to prevent adverse health effects to the public.
