Forest Technician – Weiser Forest District

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is seeking a Forest Technician to become a part of the Weiser Forest District team. In this position, you will obtain timber volumes through marking and/or cruising. You will also survey and mark timber sale boundaries, herbicide spray blocks, and planting sites using GPS technology. You will also create maps for approval by the Forester and enter data into the appropriate database.

Biological Science Technician

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is hiring a Fish Culturist to work at the Huntsdale State Fish Hatchery. In this position you will learn how to collect and select brood stock while handling the fish in a manner that minimizes stress, injury and mortality. Forest Health Geneticist

Ecological Restoration Grants Manager

The Massachsetts Department of Fish and Game is hiring an Ecological Restoration Grants Manager.. This candidate will serve as Grants Manager for DER’s Culvert Replacement Municipal Assistance (CRMA) Grant Program, which works with municipalities to implement improved road stream-crossings that benefit fish and wildlife passage and enhance climate and ecological resilience. This role will work closely with the Stream Continuity Program to increase scale, pace, and capacity of culvert replacement projects across the Commonwealth that meet the Massachusetts Stream Crossing Standards.

River Steward

The Ausable River Association (AsRA) is seeking a qualified individual to provide face to face education and outreach to recreational users of the Ausable River. The river steward’s primary responsibility will be interacting with anglers and the public to educate them about aquatic and terrestrial invasive species and proper cleaning methods for their recreational equipment. Collecting survey data, identifying and removing invasive species along the river corridor, and attending public events as an ambassador of the Ausable River, the river steward will support AsRA’s science-based conservation mission to help communities protect Ausable streams and lakes. In addition to outreach duties, the steward will have several opportunities to assist AsRA’s staff with field-based research in our biological, water quality, and stream health programs.
