Young Adult BIPOC Roving Crew

The Student Conservation Association is seeking crew members to do trail maintenance and forest restoration in Beechview Greenway, Riverview Park, and Frick Park in the Pittsburgh area.

Team members will be a part of a 6 person crew that will be instrumental in conserving and restoring the trail and forested areas of Pittsburgh. This is an entry-level crew position that can open doors to careers in conservation with the SCA and other national trail organizations.

Resource Conservationist – Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control Technician

The Armstrong Conservation District (ACD) Board of Directors will be accepting applications for the full time position of Resource Conservationist-Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control Technician. A person in this position will have an array of technical duties related to administration of the Chapter 102-Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control program.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: reviewing E&S Control plans, processing programmatic permits, conducting project site inspections, investigating delegated complaints, writing inspection reports, and effectively communicating with the public, permittees, plan designers, and cooperating agencies.

Land Stewardship Technician

The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is seeking two Technicians for a 12-week season, from September through December. This is a great opportunity to work in the backcountry and contribute to the management and protection of the iconic Appalachian Trail. Fieldwork will occur along the Appalachian Trail throughout the Mid-Atlantic region states (VA, WV, MD, PA, NJ, NY), depending on COVID-19 travel restrictions.

Land Stewardship Technicians monitor the A.T. Corridor, maintain its surveyed boundaries, and work to mitigate any encroachments they find. Backcountry fieldwork is the primary function of these positions. Technicians plan project logistics, record detailed field data, produce thorough reports, communicate regularly with the Land Stewardship Manager, and maintain vehicles and equipment.

Conservation Affairs Network Fellow

The Wildlife Society (TWS) is hiring a Conservation Affairs Network Fellow to help advance TWS’ policy activities and those of TWS chapters and sections through support and coordination of the Conservation Affairs Network. This is a full-time, term position with funding expected to be available through June 30, 2022. Possibility for extension up to an additional 12 months based on funding and incumbent availability.

PA Field Representative

The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) is seeking a Pennsylvania Field Representative who will work with TRCP’s Chief Conservation Officer to organize and advance the voice of hunters and anglers in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania around initiatives to improve the health and vitality of the Delaware River and Chesapeake Bay watersheds. Some of the PA Field Representative’s key responsibilities include building relationships and engaging with hunting and fishing organizations, creating state-specific education materials, and hosting briefings for sportsmen/women and conservation organizations, members of the media, and grassroots hunters and anglers about the important role of the hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation industry in Pennsylvania.
