The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is hiring a Historical Horticulturalist to manage the six-acre heritage landscape at Old Economy Village. The Historical Horticulturalist is responsible for all aspects of restoring and preserving Old Economy Village’s historic gardens and landscape. The position performs professional horticultural work, including research to determine the type of plants that grew at Old Economy Village, garden planning and design, preparation, planting and care of plants, grass, trees, and shrubs, and the re-creation of gardens and landscape to resemble historical periods. The Historical Horticulturalist also assists in the development and delivery of educational programming centered on Old Economy Village’s historic gardens and landscape.
