DCNR Park Resource Ranger – Presque Isle State Park

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Park Resource Ranger at Presque Isle State Park. As a Park Resource Ranger, DCNR, your primary role will involve ensuring the safety and well-being of park visitors at Presque Isle and Erie Bluffs State Parks. Some of your responsibilities will be inspecting park buildings, facilities, and grounds to identify and address any safety hazards promptly. In addition, you will perform traffic control, conduct beach and playground inspections, and post safety zones as required. Your duties will also include providing information to park visitors about park facilities, services, nearby state parks, and offering emergency care and assistance when necessary.

Forest Program Specialist

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is hiring a Forest Program Specialist. As a Forest Program Specialist, you will provide assistance to the Habitat Planning and Development Division Chief to ensure that the Game Commission meets the standards set forth in the Prescribed Burning Practices Act, established in 2009.  You will serve as the statewide Fire Program Manager for the Game Commission’s prescribed fire resources and qualifications, wildfire resources and qualifications, prescribed burn plan development, prescribed fire and wildfire reporting, and wildfire intelligence and weather.  We are looking for someone with excellent leadership and critical thinking abilities, as you will also be coordinating the Game Commission’s wildfire response with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Geospatial Specialist

As a Geospatial Specialist , you will serve as the District Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Coordinator and will be responsible for integrating watershed monitoring and management into forest planning and implementation. Your work will be crucial in supporting the district’s goals related to habitat, recreation, and operation, and you will play a key role in adapting these plans to meet changing needs. Additionally, you will manage district watershed and stream monitoring data sets; assist district managers in collecting, maintaining, and utilizing spatial data; and work with forestry staff in utilizing spatial technologies. As this is a professional forester position, you will assist in all levels of state forest resource management activities assigned by your supervisor.
