Fire Forester – William Penn Forest District

Wildlife Technician

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is hiring a Wildlife Technician to provide field support for wildlife health related operations and research. This 3 Year Limited Term-Wildlife Technician position is an entry-level role that performs professional wildlife management work including but not limited to capturing, handling, marking, and monitoring deer in addition to population monitoring and wildlife health monitoring. This position accurately collects, maintains, and transmits data and ensures projects and surveys follow established guidelines to meet expected deadlines. Historical Horticulturalist

The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is hiring a Historical Horticulturalist to manage the six-acre heritage landscape at Old Economy Village. The Historical Horticulturalist is responsible for all aspects of restoring and preserving Old Economy Village’s historic gardens and landscape. The position performs professional horticultural work, including research to determine the type of plants that grew at Old Economy Village, garden planning and design, preparation, planting and care of plants, grass, trees, and shrubs, and the re-creation of gardens and landscape to resemble historical periods. DCNR Ranger Trainee – Raymond B. Winter State Park

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Park Ranger at Raymond B. Winter State Park. This position involves participating in a one-year formal and on-the-job training program to develop the necessary skills and techniques in the areas of public contact and customer service; current developments and issues in the areas of outdoor recreation and conservation; conservation principles; environmental education; public safety; departmental policies, procedures, rules, and regulations; and law enforcement, in order to perform the work of a DCNR Ranger. Specific duties will include assisting with patrols of the park and its facilities and responding appropriately to any situation that may arise. These situations may include safety issues, park visitors that require assistance, emergencies, and violations of Commonwealth or Park laws, rules, or regulations. Other duties may include completing monthly and daily logs, including the status and condition of campgrounds, facilities, equipment, visitor safety, incidents, citations, arrests, accidents, and attendance; preparing launching, mooring, and camping permits by entering the information into the Reservation and Revenue System; and collecting fees and assisting in the preparation of transmittals by checking daily receipts for accuracy and making bank deposits.
