Additionally, you will assist in stewardship practices like tree planting, timber stand improvement, and wildlife habitat management, as well as wildfire prevention and suppression activities as directed by management.

As part of this role, you will support Foresters by aiding in the gathering of field data for stand analysis, sale layout, and other related tasks. This will involve inputting data into handheld data collectors, assisting with herbicide application, providing support for suppression efforts, and participating in prescribed fire operations, among other responsibilities.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) is hiring a Fish Culturist. As a Fish Culturist, you will assist in the propagation, care, and stocking of fish species in numbers sufficient to meet fisheries management goals toward enhancement of fishing opportunities for the general public.  This profession also involves general maintenance and repairs for various buildings, equipment, and grounds to maximize and sustain fishery management goals.  Within this role, you will learn how to collect and select brood stock while handling the fish in a manner that minimizes stress, injury, and mortality.  This is an exciting opportunity to learn to operate a fish stocking vehicle in a safe and timely manner, load and transport fish, monitor fish, and take appropriate action to deliver fish in excellent condition.

The United States Department of Agriculture is hiring a Biological Science Technician to work in South Carolina. You will be responsible for conducting direct control operations planned and organized by others to reduce wildlife damage within a geographical area or technical/subject area of program involvement. Primary wildlife dealt with will be beavers that are causing damage to roads/bridges, property, agriculture, and natural resources. Incumbent will conduct wildlife damage management operations through trapping and lethal firearm removal operations.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Ranger Trainee to work at Prince Gallitzin State Park. In this role, you will participate in a one-year formal and on-the-job training to develop the necessary skills and techniques in the areas of public contact and customer service; current developments and issues in the areas of outdoor recreation and conservation, conservation principles,  environmental education; public safety; Departmental policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and law enforcement, in order to perform the work of a DCNR Ranger.  Specific duties will include assisting with patrols of the park and its facilities, and responding appropriately to any situation which may arise.
