Regional Trail Coordinator

The North Country Trail Association is hiring a Regional Trail Coordinator in the Ohio and Pennsylvania region. The Regional Trail Coordinator is responsible for furthering the development of the North Country National Scenic Trail within Ohio and Pennsylvania (approximately 1,350 miles). The Regional Trail Coordinator works in close proximity with North Country Trail Association staff, Chapters, Affiliates, and partners, as well as the National Park Service and local land managers regarding the planning, construction, maintenance, promotion, and protection of the NCNST.

Summer Research Program in Ecology

Harvard University’s Harvard Forest, is seeking applicants for their summer research program for undergraduates. The Harvard Forest Summer Research Program in Ecology is an 11-week immersive research experience connecting undergraduate students to mentors and researchers in the pursuit of scientific inquiry. Program participants join a community of fellow students, mentors, and researchers from across these networks, gaining experience in the full scientific process by working in diverse collaborative teams, developing data science skills, and building professional networks to launch careers that will make a difference in the world.

John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship Program

The Sea Grant program is seeking applicants for their John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship. The Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship provides a unique educational and professional experience to graduate students who have an interest in ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources and in the national policy decisions affecting those resources. The Fellowship, named after one of Sea Grant’s founders and former NOAA Administrator John A. Knauss, matches highly qualified graduate students with “hosts” in the legislative and executive branch of government located in the Washington, D.C. area, for a one year paid fellowship.

PA Coldwater Habitat Program – Project Manager

The Project Manager will initially focus on coldwater habitat connectivity and restoration in and around the Allegheny National Forest region. Project types include aquatic organism passage, sediment reduction, riparian restoration, and instream habitat improvements, and will occur on both private and public land.

Abandoned Mine Drainage Project Manager

Trout Unlimited seeks to hire a self-motivated and highly capable person to identify, plan, and implement projects to restore cold-water streams, with an emphasis on native brook trout, that are polluted from abandoned coal mine drainage. Initial projects will include activities such as conducting watershed assessments to characterize and plan for mine drainage remediation, collaborating with technical experts to plan remediation projects such as passive treatment systems, monitoring and overseeing routine maintenance of existing passive treatment systems, and monitoring and documenting recovery of aquatic resources.
