The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Ranger to work at Point State Park. Duties include patrolling park grounds to ensure visitor safety, help visitors as needed, and protecting the park resources. In addition, you enforce the provisions of the law, especially as it pertains to State Parks. This includes making physical arrests and issuing citations and warrants consistent with all guidelines and regulations and taking charge of emergency situations to ensure the safety of the visitors and to protect the park resources.

Environmental Education Specialist

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is hiring an Environmental Education Specialist. In this position, you will be in charge of opening, closing, and general upkeep and maintenance to the visitors center. Duties include implementing education at the visitors center counter and answering various questions from the public including specific questions about biological sightings, habitat work, controlled hunts, and general PGC questions. You will have the opportunity to plan, develop, coordinate, and promote wildlife conservation and environmental education programs and teacher workshops for both public and private schools to help them meet environment, ecology, science, and technology standards mandated by the Department of Education as well as to promote the agency’s mission.

Wildlife Technician – Black Bear

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is hiring a Wildlife Technician to in their black bear program. You will be responsible for performing professional wildlife management duties including capturing, handling, marking, and monitoring birds and mammals with a focus on black bears. Forest Technician – Elk Forest District

Forest Technician – Plant Protection Division

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is hiring a Forest Technician to work in the Plant Protection Division. In this role, you will be responsible for offering technical support both in the field and office settings at the Spotted Lantern Fly (SLF) regional offices to the Plant Inspection Program Specialists (PIPS) and other staff members to ensure smooth and effective operations. Your duties will include conducting tree inventory for host trees of the Spotted Lanternfly, as well as ground pest surveys as needed. Additionally, you will be involved in activities such as direct suppression, biocontrol, trapping, and sampling to manage the Spotted Lanternfly population effectively.

Biological Science Technician

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is hiring a Biological Science Technician to work in Pittstown, New Jersey. The primary duties of this position will be answering wildlife calls from the public and responding to wildlife emergencies. The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is hiring a Ranger Trainee to work in the Buchanan Forest District. This position involves participating in a one-year formal and on-the-job training to develop the necessary skills and techniques in the areas of public contact and customer service, current developments and issues in the areas of outdoor recreation and conservation, conservation principles, environmental education, public safety, departmental policies, procedures, rules, and regulations, and law enforcement, in order to perform the work of a DCNR Ranger. Specific duties will include assisting with patrols of the park and its facilities, and responding appropriately to any situation which may arise.
