Rachel Nunemaker is our December student of the month. She is a Bucktails field school alumni, and extremely interested in wildlife and the outdoors. Rachel was thrilled to have the opportunity to attend the PA Bucktails over the summer, and says “This adventure has marked the beginning of a lifetime of conservation, and I’m very excited to see where it takes me.”
Rachel has taken what she learned at field school back to her community – she has been hard at work as a Conservation Ambassador for these many months! Rachel is excellent at sharing her knowledge; she created a beautiful educational presentation to explain all about Pennsylvania Envirothon. Hopefully her presentation encourages other youth to become involved in the program!
Rachel has also been furthering her own education, by attending presentations and participating in safety courses. She recently completed a boat safety course, increasing her knowledge about how to maintain safety when exploring out states many waterways!
Rachel is also interested in giving back, to her community and to her fellow students. She is participating in our student-driven Pay It Forward fundraiser, which benefits future classes of Academy students. You can check out her online fundraising page by clicking here. Rachel is an excellent example of what it means to be a Wildlife Leadership Academy Conservation Ambassador, and we are proud of all her hard work! We are excited to see where her journey goes from here, and know that her passion and dedication to conservation and wildlife will take her far. Excellent job, Rachel!
