Outreach Highlight – Liam’s Creative Connection to Nature

For Gobblers alum Liam, connecting with nature goes beyond simply being outdoors; it’s something he captures and shares through art. During a family camping trip, Liam took time to reflect on the natural beauty around him, sketching what he saw as a way to record his experiences and observations. His drawing became more than just a picture on paper — it was a moment of mindfulness and appreciation for the world around him.

Liam’s artistic outreach is a reminder that conservation takes many forms. Through creative expression, he invites others to slow down, observe, and see the value in even the smallest details of the natural world. Art can be a powerful tool for conservation awareness, sparking curiosity and inspiring others to connect with the outdoors in their own way.

After encountering a screech owl, Liam became inspired to draw one.

But Liam’s efforts didn’t stop there. While camping, he also took time to teach his younger cousins some outdoor skills. Whether showing them how to set up camp or sharing what he’s learned through the Wildlife Leadership Academy, Liam’s leadership extended beyond his own experience to help others feel more confident and connected in nature.

By sharing his artistic talents and his love for the outdoors, Liam demonstrates what it means to be a true Conservation Ambassador. His outreach reminds us that inspiring stewardship doesn’t always come from a classroom or presentation — sometimes, it begins with a sketchbook and a shared moment under the trees. We are so proud of Liam, and of all our Conservation Ambassadors, who continue to share their unique talents and passions. Their creativity, leadership, and dedication help keep conservation alive in communities across Pennsylvania and beyond.
