This year, the Wildlife Leadership Academy had the distinct honor of receiving the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Educator’s award of Outstanding Environmental Education Program. This award recognizes an exemplary or innovative environmental education program that could serve as a model of excellence for educators throughout the Commonwealth of PA.
Voted upon by all members of the PAEE, this award comes as a recognition of the hard work and dedication that every person, from participant to staff, has put into the Academy to make it a place where learning comes to life. Students who attend the Academy find a place where they are accepted for who they are, encouraged to grow, and supported every step of the way on their journey as Conservation Ambassadors. Alumni are given the resources they need to succeed in their educational journeys and careers.
We at the Academy deeply appreciate and are humbled by this recognition. We also understand that we could not be successful without the partnership of all those who come out to volunteer their time and expertise to instruct and nurture our students, staff, and alumni each summer. These instructors, staff, and volunteers are the backbone of our field schools and inspire our students to follow in their conservation footsteps. We can never say enough thank you’s, and look forward many more summers of working together!
